Update on 2021 Day Camps

Dear Parents and Guardians of Circle Square Ranch Day Campers,

In light of the sixteen-month COVID-19 health crisis, we are writing to let you know about the approach that Circle Square Ranch is taking to keep campers safe and healthy at camp. We are concerned and disappointed by how this is impacting us all. While overnight camps are not permitted in 2021, we are delighted to confirm that Manitoba has included Day Camps in Phase 1 (for all of our camper ages 5-15) in the new re-opening plan effective June 26. The plan has specific recommendations around social distancing and limiting group sizes to 20 per cohort. We believe we can follow these recommendations and provide a positive Day Camp experience for your children this summer, hopefully a gift to them after a difficult year for many.

We have a good relationship with our local health department and continue to look to them for up-to-date information. Circle Square Ranch has well-established health-specific protocols in place to protect our campers. This involves: 1) added registration procedures with specific health questionnaire and non-contact temperature check, 2) added sanitation and handwashing practices, 3) added signage and instructions for social distancing in activities (all of our programs are based on 2 meter spacing), 4) spacing marked out for washroom areas and other program areas, and 5) a medical officer will be here for the entirety of the Day Camp programs. A new addition for 2021 is the requirement for staff and campers to wear non-medical masks (unless there are medical reasons not to) when they are inside (for using washrooms, the bus or activities)Our plan is to be outside as much as possible during the Day Camps. With all this in place we believe that camp will be a lot of fun while being safe!

We look forward to be able to welcome campers to Circle Square Ranch in July and believe that camp can be so valuable in helping children and youth find rest and peace through an outdoor setting with caring mentors and skills training. When registering you should have received a packing list (if not please let us know). As a reminder Day Camp campers will need to bring their own bagged lunch each day (no nuts), two water bottles and we will provide snacks. If you have any questions about Day Camp or our health safety plan please don’t hesitate to contact us.

Sincerely,

Dan and Danielle Ingram
